Essential protection

The hosting security provider, Cloudflare, may set __cf_bm to distinguish ordinary visits from automated traffic. Cloudflare says it expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. It is used for site protection and cannot be controlled by the optional consent choices.

Visitor statistics

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 loads to count page visits and report approximate country and city. It can set _ga and _ga_* first-party cookies to distinguish users and sessions; this site sets their lifetime to up to six months. Google’s cookie guide explains them. Analytics stays off when you choose only essentials.

Video choice

Vimeo is not contacted by the embedded players until you allow videos, either separately or through “Allow all”. Vimeo may then set cookies and process your visit under its own cookie policy. If you choose “Only essentials”, the video placeholders remain and the rest of the site works normally.

Remembering your choice

The browser’s local storage holds david-consent-v1, recording your analytics and video choices and their date for up to six months. This is not an analytics cookie. Use “Cookie choices” in the footer to change your decision. Switching videos off removes the players from this page; any Vimeo cookies already stored in your browser must be cleared through your browser settings.

There are no advertising or marketing cookies added by this website. If you later withdraw analytics consent, this site stops measurement and clears its first-party _ga cookies. Data already collected cannot be removed from Google’s reports by this switch.
